Broken Man is a pandemic project. My preparation for my first full-length film stalled, and anxiety started creeping in. I had no monetary resources, but I have a lot of footage that I don’t know what to do with. AIR is a self-taught editor and Max was having a good time learning the ukulele. Our household had a lot of time and Broken Man became our little pandemic project. 

I experimented with contrapuntal text, imagery, and contextualized readings. Stitching and overlaying two moving images made them mean something else. The idea of playing with possible dissonance thrilled me.  Broken Man explores how the mundane, spontaneous, and random everyday life becomes a meditative challenge, invitation, and stimulation.
