Sheenly Gener
Sheenly Gener is a filmmaker, a Berlinale Talents alumna, and an award-winning actress for stage, television, film and commercials. She won the Best Supporting Actress award in the QCinema International Film Festival 2017 for her performance in Emerson Reyes’ Dormitoryo (Mga Walang Katapusang Kwarto). She was also a Best Actress nominee in the Aliw Awards 2002 for her performance in Insiang, Mario O’hara’s stage version of Lino Brocka’s film of the same title.
Her directorial full-length feature debut, Bula Sa Langit (International Title: Trigger) was part of the Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival 2022 and was awarded Best First Feature and Best Sound and Aural Orchestration by the Young Critics Circle and Best Sound for Cinemalaya. Her short film, Ikahuli, was a finalist in the 31st Gawad Alternatibo and in the .GIFF Festival of New Cinema.
Sheenly is a mother, actress, director, teacher, acting coach, yogi, kalista, biker, painting student, wreath and accessories designer, vegetarian, weekend baker, container gardener, recycling and upcycling advocate, voice talent, and dubber - anything that could involve storytelling and healing. She is as well an SM, ASM, AD, 2AD, SC, FD, LP, PM and many other acronyms in a colorful and compact package.
